In the 1700s, 1883 - present​ (2021)

• Story is a narrative from an elder telling a story about the Metis people to a child

​

       Narrative is about the following events:

     

       1700s

• How Metis people came to be

  • French People mostly going to ​Manitoba to hunt for Beavers to trade and make hats out of

  • French People asking help from Aboriginal People to improve hunting skills

  • Eventually settled and created families together

​

       1883-1996

• Metis people's culture started to die out because of Residential Schools

​

         Modern

• Now during modern times, Metis people are trying to preserve their culture
